Process Water
- Acidic process water is used to slurry and transport
to the stack the phosphogypsum formed by reacting phosphate rock and sulfuric
acid. The phosphogypsum is allowed to settle out and the process water is
returned to the chemical plant. It also refers to the water cooled in diked
reservoirs before being returned to the plant. It is also known as process
cooling water or pond water.
